Carter Littlepage Stevenson was a career military officer, serving in the United States Army in several antebellum wars and then in the Confederate States Army as a Major General. Graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1838. Participated in the Second Seminole War, Mexican-American War, Third Seminole War, Utah War and the American Civil War. After the war, he was occupied as a civil and mining engineer until his death.[1]
Husband of Martha Silvery Griswold. Father of Isabella and Clara. Carter passed away in 1888. Final resting place in Confederate Cemetery Fredericksburg, Virginia.[2]
