Biography

Born in NC. & lived in there for 13 years. When my father died; I was devastated. During the summer of 1969 my mother & I moved to Naples, Florida where I met & married my 1st husband; I was 16 years old. While he was in the military we lived in Germany and my son was born there; I loved Germany and everything about it! (it's part of my heritage through my great grandmother. After returning to Florida I decided to leave Larry, and beautiful Naples in 1976, and take my son to North Carolina (where my mother had moved back to a year earlier). In 1980 I married again, and in 1980 we had a daughter. Mike died and I was a single parent of 2 children. I remained single for 9 years. In 1995 I met my 3rd husband and in 1999 we married. After some time & circumstances we grew apart and divorced. At the time of this journal I am living in North Carolina near where my mother lives. My son, Shawn is currently in NC and my daughter, and my granddaughter currently live elsewhere. I am a member of Church of God (a long way from my Lutheran upbringing!). Sources ==

Hi!

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Shirley Dalton, WikiTree Mentor

Hi Nancy,

I descend from the Stevenson line (Edward and Mary Stevenson's son Henry of Baltimore Co. MD) Edward emigrated from as best as I and a colleague have determined ca. 1671 Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland area. The two spellings are regarded as insignificant in genealogical circle. Edward was from a merchant family. My line went west to Ohio and Nebraska. My mother being a Stevenson from Nebraska. I might be able to find something that will break down a wall bc I do significant work in the lower Southern colonies.

Hello Nancy, and welcome to WikiTree!

The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used.

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to become a member of WikiTree. Just add a Tag for each family name or place you are researching. Then click the “Post Tags and Volunteer” button. One of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership.

WikiTree is an exciting and growing community and we are really glad you decided to join us.
