William was born on 27 March 1773 at Randolph, Massachusetts, a son of Gideon Stetson.[1][2]
His mother was Hannah (Holbrook) Stetson.[3]
William Stetson was married to Rhoda Holbrook on 26 January 1800. They resided in Randolph, Massachusetts, where seven children were born. He died 18 September 1823; his wife Rhoda Stetson survived as his widow.[4]
