Trying to transfer my Family Tree over from Ancestry.com. Unable to correctly enter the URL associated with my tree there.

Hi, Lawrence

If you are trying to input the URL from Ancestry for your tree, that will not work. Download your tree from Ancestry through a gedcom for your family and upload it to WikiTree for the GEDCOMpare process.  This page lists gedcom links for more information: Gedcom Topics.

Start with a small number and refer to the pages for Ancestry, splitting a gedcom, and the GEDCOMpare process. WikiTree allows one profile per person in the one-world tree, so you don't want to create duplicates. The gedcom doesn't automatically load the profiles, and profiles added from the GEDCOMpare process will need some editing to fit WikITree standards.
