Catharina Elisabeth Steffens was born on February 2, 1738 in Börnsen, Kreis Herzogtum Lauenburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Deutschland, daughter of Hans Claus Steffens (1700–1772) and Ilsebe Gesche Steffens (1699– ).
Catharina married Otto Hinr. Suhr (born in 1730). Their daughter was Johanne Margarete Ilsabe Suhr (1769–1859).
Catharina died on December 8, 1810 in Aumühle, aged 72.
