Biography

Mary Ann Steel was born Berkswell[1]/Burmington[2] (30 miles south of Berkswell), Warwickshire, 1810.

She was the daughter of William Steel & Martha Unknown. [1]

She married John Huckvale, Burmington 1829.

Aged 41 in 1851 she resided Burmington with her husband and nine children. [2]

Mary died aged 60, Burmington, June 1869. [3]

Research Notes

The 1851 census claims that Mary was born Burmington, which conflicts with her christening in Berkswell. The witness at her wedding, Henry Steel, presumably her brother, was baptised Berkswell 1809, however, her six younger siblings (Hannah, John, Thomas, Joseph, Martha, Ann) were born Burmington.
