Biography

Leonidas was born in 1870 in Gainesville, Arkansas. He was the son of Leonidas Stedman and Alice Grenade.

He married Alice Corey Bacon in 1907 in Green County, Arkansas. They had three children together, one son, and two daughters.

Together with h is brothers Charles Walter Stedman and William Telfair Stedman, he purchased a hardware store in Paragould, Arkansas in 1905 and named it Stedman Hardware Company until they sold it in 1944

He was a director and Vice President of the National Bank of Commerce in Paragould, a member of the first Paragould Municipal Light Plant Board, and the city's first Board of Paving Commissioners..

He also served on the building committees of the First Methodist Church and the Vandervoort Hotel. He operated a store in Bay Spur for a time, and owned farm land in western Greeene County.

He passed away in 1948 in Paragould and was buried in Linwood Cemetery.
