Emily Stanley was born on April 18, 1884 in Clarenville, Newfoundland, Canada. Her parents were Zebedee Stanley and Elizabeth Balsom. She married George Vardy on August 29, 1907 in St John's, Newfoundland. Witnesses were Edgar Stanley (brother of Emily) and Jesse Pardy, (should be Vardy), sister of George. ^[1] They were listed on the 1911 census at Clarenville, Newfoundland. ^[2]
Together they had 6 children:

She passed away in 1920 ^[3] in Clarenville and is buried in the United Church Cemetery on Church Hill. ^[4]
