Gloria Stanley and Austin Wiggins Vows Said in Amarillo
Miss Gloria Stanley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Stanley of Shamroch and Lieut. Austin Wiggins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Wiggins of Amherst, were married at 2:15 p. m. Tuesday, June 23, at the Polk Street Methodist, Church in Amarillo. The Rev. Earl G. Hamlett officiated at the single ring ceremony. Mrs. Wiggins was attended by Miss Muriel Faye Phegley of Lockney and Miss Hallie Nell Sligar of Canyon.
The Bride wore a brown and white linen dress with white accessories. Her corsage was of brown Orchids.
Mrs. Wiggins was graduated from Shamrock High School and had finished her sophomore year at West Texas State College. She was a member of Delta Zeta Chi sorority.
Lieut. Wiggins attended Amherst High School and received his B. S. degree from West Texas State in 1941. He was a member of the varsity football squad and was president of the "T" club.
The couple will leave Saturday for San Diego, Calif., where Lieut. Wiggins will complete his officers training. He enlisted in the United States Marines.
