Luther Spring was born on 12 June 1768 in Weston, Middlesex, Massachusetts, United States, the son of Ruth Spring and Samuel Spring.[1][2]
In 1792, the Town of Thomlinson (Grafton) appointed a committee to raise funds for the Town Meeting House by selling pews therein to residents. Luther, on 13 February 1792, purchased a pew for his family's use for 9 pounds.[3]
He married Sally Beard on 14 November 1793 in Grafton, Vermont.[4] In the following 19 years, they had nine children, all of whose profiles are connected to this one.[5]
Luther, Sally and their first four children were living in Grafton in 1800.[6] Later on 19 Jan 1808, Luther purchased 68.25 acres for $350 in South West Grafton (Lott 11, 6th Range).[7]
Since Luther's youngest recorded child was born on 17 May 1812, Luther must have been alive nine months earlier in September 1811.[8] He is recorded as having been buried in the Grafton Village Cemetery.[9][10]
