Jonathan Spring was born around 1768 in Lincolnshire, England, the son of Ann Spring and Henry Spring.^[1]

He was christened on 2 November 1768 in Wrawby, Lincolnshire.^[1]

He married Charlotte Freer on 20 October 1793 in Wrawby.^[2] Their children were:
