Thomas Spring was born on 3 June 1735, the son of Hannah Annesley and Thomas Spring.[1]
He was baptised on 24 June 1735 at SS Peter/Kevin, Dublin.[1]
Thomas matriculated at Trinity College Dublin on 14 July 1750 and graduated in 1755[2]. He was admitted to the Middle Temple on 6 May 1755[3].
He married, firstly, Catherine Wight, in Limerick[4] on 18 September 1763[1]. Their marriage settlement dated 17 September 1763[5] makes reference to "Revd Edwd Wight Doctor of Divinity & Archdeacon of Limk & Cath Wight spinster" without specifying their relationship, though Burke[6] does say they were father and daughter, and that her mother was Miss Burgh. The settlement also says the marriage portion is subject to a payment of £100 per year to Thomas' mother Hanna Spring.
Their daughter was:[1]
Catherine died in June 1764.[1]
Thomas remarried in December 1764, to Jane, youngest daughter of Thomas Maunsell of the City of Limerick and his wife Ann[7][8]. The marriage settlement[7] dates from 18th and 19th December and refers to "a marriage was shortly intended to be had". The settlement allows for a jointure for his mother Hanna and a portion for his daughter Catherine.
Thomas died in 1776[1], his mother Hannah was appointed Administratrix of his estate[9]. His remains were interred in St. Peter in Dublin Ireland[1][10][11].
Jane is probably the "relict of Thomas Spring" who died in Limerick on 19th October 1782.[12]
