He was born to parents Juliana Hannah Webb and John William Gooch Spicer. He was baptised on the 14th of Aug 1850 at Esher, Surrey, England.[1]
Educated at Eton, March 1863 to January 1868.
Captain John Edmund Philip Spicer married Lady Margaret Mary Fane, daughter of Colonel Francis William Henry Fane, 12th Earl of Westmorland and Lady Adelaide Ida Curzon, on 2 October 1888. He died on 31 March 1928.
