Biography
Stephen was born in 1909. He was an English poet and critic. He founded, along with Cyril Connolly, the magazine Horizon, of which he was co-editor. Spender was also co-editor of Encounter. His Journals and Collected Poems were both published in 1985. He was knighted in 1983.
Sir Stephen passed away in 1995.
