Emma (Spencer) Ratliff was born in Appalachia, in Kentucky.

Emma Zel Spencer was born on 7 August 1907 in Johnson County, Kentucky, United States, daughter of William Creal Spencer and Anna L Hurt.

In the 1910 census Emmazel (age 2) was the daughter of William C Spencer in District 3, Johnson, Kentucky.[1]

In the 1920 census Eunice (age 13) was the daughter of C W Spencer in Floyd County, Kentucky.[2]

Emma (age 21) married Guy Rattiff (age 23) on 19 November 1927 in Prestonsburg, Floyd, Kentucky.[3]

In the 1930 census Emma (age 21) was the married daughter-in-law of Essa Ratliff in Bloom Township, Scioto County, Ohio.[4]

In the 1940 census Emma (age 33) was the wife of Guy Ratliff in West Portsmouth, Washington Township, Scioto, Ohio.[5]

In the 1950 census Emma (age 42) was the wife of Guy Ratliff in Portsmouth, Wayne Township, Scioto, Ohio.[6]

Emma died (age 69-70) in 1977 in Scioto County Ohioand was buried in Scioto Burial Park, McDermott, Scioto County, Ohio.[7]
