Anderson Spencer was born on January 28, 1806 in Greene County, Ohio, United States, son of Francis I Spencer (1780–1870) and Sarah Spencer (1782–1854).
Anderson (20) married Sarah Emily Hill (20) (born on September 29, 1806) in 1827. Their children were:
- John F. Spencer (1831–1916)
- Hugh L Spencer (1832–1849)
- Sarah Keziah Spencer (1835–1929)

Anderson died on February 15, 1892 in Darke County, Ohio, aged 86. He was buried in First Universalist Church Cemetery, New Madison, Darke County, Ohio.[1]
