On merges, you do not have to do anything to set them up unless they are matches. Then you click to merge them. If they are clearly not a match and someone tries to merge them anyway, it is a rejected match and unmerged are just for if there is a question. If they could be the same person but something needs checked first, then they get set as unmerged.

Thank you for acknowledging my entry about Mary (Spencer) O'Brien. As a newby I am curious as to how you knew about it. I am even

more curious to learn more about what appears to be our common ancestors, the Spencers and how they tie into the O'Briens. For example Jacob's son George married Martha Spencer. Are Mary and Martha related? I look forward to collaborating with you on these matters.
