Biography

Sarah was born on August 24, 1900 in Oskaloosa, Mahaska County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Benjiman Spearing and Margaret "Maggie" (Love) Spearing. Sarah attended Newton High School in Newton, Iowa. She married George W Short (1898-1986) on June 12, 1932 in Center Point, Linn County, Iowa. They raised 2 adopted children;

1. James Benjamin Short (1940-2004)
2. Judith M Short 1942

Sarah died on October 28, 1980 in Iowa at the age of 80 years. She was buried at the Newton Union Cemetery located in Newton, Jasper County, Iowa.
