Margaret Sparks was born on May 19, 1814 in VA or NC, daughter of William A. Sparks (1783–1869) and Rhoda Pennington (1789–1871).

Margaret married Isaac Sylvester Bumbalough (born on May 5, 1813 in White, Tennessee, United States; son of Isaac Bumbalough Jr. and Lydia Ann Leah (Medcalf) Bumbalough).

In the 1850 census Margarett (age 36) was in White, Tennessee, United States.[1] Isaac Brumlow 37, Margarett Brumlow 36, Sarah Brumlow 44, Susan Brumlow 16, Roda Jane Brumlow 13, Unity Brumlow 11, Lee Ann Brumlow 10, William J Brumlow 7, John A V 4, Levi S Brumlow 2, Jessee S Brumlow 8 months.

In the 1860 census Margaret (age 46) was at 4th District, Putnam, Tennessee, United States.[2] Isaac Brumlow 47, Margaret Brumlow 46, Susan Brumlow 25, William J Brumlow 16, Levi L Brumlow 14, Lean Brumlow 19, Jesse S Brumlow 10, Elijah W Brumlow 8, Isaac S Brumlow 5, James W Brumlow 3.

In the 1880 census Mary (age 66), Keeping House, was the wife of Isaac Bumbalough in District 4, Grainger, Tennessee, United States.[3] Isaac Bumbalough 67, wife Mary Ann Bumbalough 66, son James W. Bumbalough 21, sister Sarah Bumbalough 68.

Margaret died on July 4, 1883 in Board Valley, White Co TN, aged 69. She was buried in Board Valley Cemetery. White County, Tennessee.[4]
