  • "... he (Spencer Mead) was an exceptionally bad guesser (of birth dates). He didn't even have the consideration to place his guessed dates in parentheses, and the reader may assume that they are based on something tangible, such as age at death. These dates used to bother and mislead me until I discovered that they could be entirely disregarded (as well as most of the genealogical section of the book)."
