Jamestown Stickers

Member Stickers

The Jamestown Team, one of the US Southern Colonies Project's Colonial Teams, works on profiles of the men and women who arrived in Jamestown. See also Jamestown Colony.
Jamestown Church Tower
If you are a member of the Jamestown Team, you can add the Jamestown Team sticker to your profile:

The above coding for the Jamestown Team Sticker is also found in this section of the US Southern Colonies Stickers page, where other examples are given. You could also add the project member's sticker:
... ... ... is a member of the US Southern Colonies Project.
Southern Colonies
Please note that if you are adding a sticker to a profile other than your own, WikiTree guidelines call for no more than 5 stickers and note that 3 is better (see Help:Stickers). Recognition Stickers can only be used on active WikiTree members' profiles. While Descendant stickers are primarily intended for use on the profiles of active WikiTree members, they can be placed on any profile to show a person's link to ancestors.

Project Sticker|Jamestown

If the person was in Jamestown before it became a Crown colony in 1624/5, add "|Jamestown" to the US Southern Colonist Sticker and US Southern Colonist Project Box (which are for profiles within the scope of the project and managed by the project, respectively). When added to the Project Box, only the category is changed (from Category: US Southern Colonists to Category: Jamestown Colonists). Note - both the sticker and the Project Box require a colony to be named.[1]
U.S. Southern Colonies Project logo
... ... ... was a Virginia colonist.
Jamestown Church Tower
... ... ... was a Jamestown colonist.
Adding |Jamestown to the sticker changes the category, the text, and the image.

Virginia

Jamestown
The project sticker can be used to add a project maintenance category.[1] For example, adding |needs=Sources adds Category: US Southern Colonies Project Needs Sources.

Jamestown Settlers

Jamestown Church tower
... was listed in the 1624/5 Jamestown Muster.
For someone listed in the 1624/5 Jamestown Muster, use the "base" Jamestown Sticker:
Jamestown Sticker
Jamestown ships
... arrived in Jamestown aboard the ship Supply in 1621.
You can change the sticker to note what ship he or she arrived on by adding "|settler|ship=xx|year=16xx" - for example:

A Jamestown settler, for the purposes of the base sticker and the "settler" option, is someone who arrived in Jamestown before Jamestown became a Crown colony in 1624/5, as shown by ship passenger lists or by inclusion in the 1624/5 Jamestown Muster. See WikiTree's Jamestown Colony page for details and resources. Note that there is a separate sticker for "Jamestowne Society Qualifying Ancestors" (see below). Neither group is a subset of the other (for example, Qualifying Ancestors include non-immigrants and not all proven Jamestown settlers have been designated as a Qualifying Ancestor by the Jamestowne Society).
The base sticker and settler option both add the category Jamestown, Virginia Colony. Another option, "official" (see below), does not.[2]

Jamestown Officials

Cross of Saint George
... ... ... was a Jamestown official.
For someone who served as an official of Jamestown prior to 4 July 1776, you can use the following sticker:
official
This version of the Jamestown Sticker does not add a category.[2]

Jamestown Society Qualifying Ancestors

flag of the Jamestowne Society

The Jamestowne Society Ancestor Sticker is for profiles of people listed by the Jamestowne Society as Qualifying Ancestors (http://www.jamestowne.org/qualifying-ancestors.html; see also this WikiTree page).

The sticker adds two categories: Jamestowne Society Qualifying Ancestors and Jamestown Colonists.

Please note: We have the Jamestowne Society's permission to use its flag in the sticker for the profiles of people the Society lists as Qualifying Ancestors (the sticker just described). Please do not use it with other stickers or separately. See this G2G post.[3]

When adding this sticker, you should also add a footnote to support it.

Example footnote:

Potential Qualifying Ancestor

Image of US 5 dollar gold coin (obverse) commemorating Jamestowne's 400th Anniversary
... meets the criteria to be a Jamestowne Society Qualifying Ancestor (but is not listed as one).

In some cases, the Jamestowne Society may not list someone as a Qualifying Ancestor although the person meets the Society's criteria. In those cases, this sticker can be used:

potential

The sticker does not add a category.[4]

QA Ancestor Sticker

The Jamestowne QA Sticker is best used with the |ancestor= parameter:

The sticker does not add a category.[4]

Relative of Qualifying Ancestor/Potential QA

This sticker is primarily for profiles of close relatives of people listed by the Jamestowne Society as Qualifying Ancestors (see http://www.jamestowne.org/qualifying-ancestors.html), but can also be used on your own profile.

Image of US 5 dollar gold coin (obverse) commemorating Jamestowne's 400th Anniversary
... is the father of Henry and William Batte (see Jamestowne Society Qualifying Ancestors).
Image of US 5 dollar gold coin (obverse) commemorating Jamestowne's 400th Anniversary
... is the 7th great-grandson of Thomas Adams (see Jamestowne Society Qualifying Ancestors).

The sticker does not add a category.[4]

When adding this sticker, you should also add a footnote with the Qualifying Ancestor's information to support it.

Example footnotes:

* Batt/Batte, Henry - A605; Charles City Co.: 1685-86, 1691-92 (Burgess).
