Norway Project relies on the project members to contribute with corrections and improvements in order to make the Norwegian profiles look their best. If we could all help out, even a little bit, once in a while, it would help improve WikiTree.

The WikiTree suggestion reports are updated once a week, usually at the beginning of the week.

They are created as part of the Data Doctors Project and if you find you enjoy this kind of work you should perhaps check out Space:Data_Doctors_Project_Video_Collection and also consider joining the project (click the Data Doctor link above) as well as the Nordic Project Data Doctors Team.

However, in order to work on your own personal suggestion list, you do not need to be a Data Doctor. You will find the suggestion list for the profiles you manage in the menu “My WikiTree” at the top of the page (just right of the middle of the page). Click the menu and choose “ Suggestions” from the dropdown menu.

If you have any suggestions, the column to the left will explain what is wrong and there is also a small green dot with a question mark that you can click to get to the help page for that specific error. The colour of the left-hand column will indicate the difficulty of the error.

On the right-hand side is a grey button labeled "Status" which will open a new window when clicked. Once you have investigated, and hopefully corrected the profile, you can use the radio buttons to "Select a status" so others will know what has been done. Sometimes a Norwegian name can be a trigger, for example, the female name Eli is often suggested to be a male name, and the male name Jone is often suggested to be female. Then the "False suggestion" radio button should be used, with an explanatory comment why it is indeed a false suggestion. Click the "Update status" button at the bottom and you are done with the editing of that specific error/suggestion.

Norgeprosjektet stoler på at prosjektets medlemmer bidrar med rettelser og forbedringer slik at de norske profilene kan bli så bra som mulig. Hvis alle kunne hjelpe til, selv bare litt en gang i blant, ville det bidra til å forbedre hele Wikitree.

WikiTree suggestion reports er en liste med foreslåtte mulige databasefeil som blir oppdatert ukentlig, vanligvis i starten av uken.

Listen er en del av Data Doctors Project, og hvis du liker denne typen arbeid, bør du kanskje se på Space:Data_Doctors_Project_Video_Collection og vurdere å bli med i det prosjektet (klikk Data Doctor lenken ovenfor) samt Nordic Project Data Doctors Team.

Du trenger ikke være en Data Doctor for å arbeide med din personlige "suggestion list". Du finner din egen liste, som er basert på profilene du har ansvar for, i menyen “My WikiTree” øverst på siden. Klikk på menyen og velg “ Suggestions” fra rullegardinmenyen.

Hvis det er noen feilforslag i listen din, vil kolonnen til venstre forklare hva den mulige feilen er, og det vil være en liten grønn prikk med et spørsmålstegn på som du kan klikke for å komme til hjelpsiden for den spesifikke feilen. Bakgrunnsfargen i kolonnen til venstre indikerer vanskelighetsgraden til forslaget.

I kolonnen helt til høyre vil hvert forslag ha en grå knapp merket "Status" som vil åpne et nytt vindu når du klikker den. Når du har undersøkt og forhåpentligvis korrigert profilen, kan du bruke radioknapper med ulike alternativer til å velge en ny status slik at andre kan se hva som har blitt gjort.

Av og til kan norske navn gi feilmeldinger. For eksempel vil kvinnenavnet Eli bli antatt å være et mulig mannsnavn og gi feilmeldinger deretter, og omvendt med mannsnavnet Jone, som blir antatt å være et mulig kvinnenavn. I slike tilfeller bør man bruke "False suggestion" radioknappen og også skrive en liten forklaring på hvorfor feilmeldingen er falsk. Klikk på "Update status" knappen nederst på siden for å fullføre redigeringen av det spesifikke feilforslaget.
