Summary

This space contains PDF images of the Carded Medical and Service records for James Riley Lane (abt.1846-1894) Pvt., Co. F, 156th New York Infantry, Civil War, and all documents contained in the folder of the Widow's Pension application submitted by his wife Anna Laura (Barthe) Lane (1855-1939) from the first submission 25 July 1895 until 30 March 1939 about two months after her death.

The original PDF image files were provided through an order placed with The Horse Solider Research Service, https://www.horsesoldier.com/research, delivered 26 Feb 2019. The orginal file names have been changed for clarity and split to keep individual files under 10MB.

A Soldier Pension file for a James P. Lane of Chesapeake City, Cecil, Maryland, USA, Corporal, Co. K, 11th Maryland Volunteer Infantry, was included in those pulled by the National Archives for James Riley Lane, apparently due to a mistake in the original indexing of the files. When time allows a profle will be created for this person and the file will be split and uploaded to a new Free Space page. For now the file will remain in the index below.
