From the first grant of land in 1662 to 1866.

• Written by Professor William Chauncey Fowler with the aim to "preserve the Records, and place them in the hands of the inhabitants in a form convenient for reference." He indicates in the preface that he has kept the spellings as he found them and that he has focused on writing a "history of facts and not of fancies."
