'Sacred to the memory of Alice daughter of John & Margaret Soulsby of Rothbury died Feb 27th 1812 aged 19 years. Short was my stay the longer was my rest, God cal'd mw hence because he thought it best, Therefore dear friends lament for me no more, I am not lost but gone awhile before. John Soulsby a son died 3rd Feb 1821 aged 57 years. James son of John and Grace Soulsby who died Nov 30th 1830 aged 3 years. William Soulsby mason died March 23rd 1863 aged 52 years. Isabella his wife died [remainder buried]. [Back] In memory of William Soulsby of Rothbury died March 16th 1801 aged 68 years. Also Elisabeth his wife died March 26th 1802 aged 65 years. William Soulsby son of the above died Febry 21st 1836 aged 69 years. Also Mary his wife who died 9th April 1847 aged 63.'
