Biography

Richard was born in 1781.

Family Records kept at All Saints Church

All Saints Church Harewood, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England.

Harewood Church, Grade I listed disused church in grounds of Harewood House, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. The church dates from the 15th century and is mainly Perpendicular in style. Additions were made in 1793, and the church was restored in 1862–63 by George Gilbert Scott. It contains an impressive collection of six medieval monuments containing effigies, dating from the 15th century. The church is redundant and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust... All Saints' Church, the former parish church, stands to the west of the village, The church stands in isolation within Harewood Park, as the surrounding village was relocated by the owner of Harewood House, in about 1760, to a location further from the house, leaving the church isolated.... Harewood; is a village and civil parish in the City of Leeds metropolitan borough, West Yorkshire. The A61 runs through the village, from Leeds city centre in the south to Harrogate in the north.

Research Notes

Need stronger evidence that Richard Snow from Harewood married Elizabeth Moseley. Ancestry trees assert this and I've tentatively established this relationship because Elizabeth Moseley's husband Richard Snow was a linen draper and so were some of their family members (John Ellison) and son Charles T. Snow.

Father's will

His father Richard Snow executed a last will and testament on 17th October 1815. He was a Shopkeeper in Harewood, County of York who's second wife Hannah was still living and the will left her well cared for. The children mentioned in this will were Thomas Snow, RIchard Snow and Martha Horner. (All children of his first wife Mary Robinson Snow.)

Witnesses were : Richard Pullan, John Muschamp, Samuel Powell
