I'm adopted. I met my birth parents and understand that I am a 6th generation San Franciscan from the Shenson Family on my mother's side. My mother, Marlene Grant had a romance with Paul Snow. Marlene's mother, Berdine Marcella was briefly married to Marlene's father, Joe Grant. His real name was "Gratinsky" I've heard, divorced when Marlene was young. I can't find anything about him other than born 1909 in California and lived on 26th Ave. in San Francisco. Berdine's mother Reba Shenson married Isaia Shouman. He was born in 1886 in Russia and died in Los Angeles in 1948. His father was Soloman Shouman and mother Rosa. They lived in Fresno, Ca. He seems to have had an earlier wife, Eva when they arrived in SF port in 1915 from Russia. They had a furniture business in Hanford, Kings County , Ca. On my father's side, Paul Snow's family was easy to find in Ancestry.com. However no one has an Italian name, and my DNA has me at 28%! I'm very curious where the Italian slipped in. Paul Snow's father was William G Snow 1879-1934, married to Delia Mae Fowler 1877-1967. William's parents were James Levi Snow 1856-1896 and Rhoda Ann Durham 1862-1895.

You may have been hard at work getting connected to family members who are already here and adding those who were missing. You probably have at least a few profiles that you manage now.
There's a fast and easy way to access those profiles using the Watchlist. So, this week we're going to look at How to Manage Your Watchlist.
Please let one of us know if you have questions! Just click my name above the comment, then ask in the comment section of my page. We want to help!

PS Good work so far! Have you noticed on your ancestor profiles on the bottom right is "Research" where you can get sources and more information? Give it a try sometime!
You have been here for a while now! We hope your profiles are starting to come together and that you've enjoyed getting to know all of us a little better.
You're probably getting a good feel for the collaborative nature of WikiTree by now. We know that collaboration isn't always easy. So, we've put together a few pointers that can make working in this type of environment a little easier: How to be a Successful WikiTreer.

You are now a confirmed member and can get started adding your family members. As we've said, WikiTree is quite different from other genealogy sites. For that reason we've put together a guided tour to help you learn how to use the site. Your first stop is How to Start Climbing Our Tree.
Tomorrow you'll hear from a WikiTree mentor, who will check in to see how you're doing and to answer any questions you might have.
Next week you'll get another message with your next stop on the guided tour.
You can meet some of our members by joining in on our Question of the Week: "where you do start your offline research?"
Welcome!
