Biography

Alvon was born September 5, 1892 in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia, the son of James Smythe and Annie Benjamin ^[1]. Alvon married Donna Smith in 1917 Nova Scotia^[2]. They moved to Edmonton, Alberta and raised 8 children:

• Harold Victor Smythe (~1915–2011) .

Alvon saw active service in World War I, as a private in the 26th Battalian. His lungs were damaged during a gas attack, contibuting to his death in Edmonton,Alberta, July 5, 1941^[3]. ^[4].
