There’s not a whole lot to say about me. I’m more focused on dead people. I am retired, and genealogy is a hobby I got hooked on when one of my grandmothers died, and my cousin and his father cleared out the garage. There were boxes of photos of people I did not know. My dad’s descended from two pre-revolutionary war families. On one were the Logans, noted for their service to their country. On the other, a German family of AmEndts. My mom had just as interesting family - a descendant of Mayflower passenger Stephen Hopkins. Some descendants of those early New England families were loyalists and removed to Nova Scotia. Later generations returned to the states, where my Pennsylvania Dutch grandmother married a Nova Scotian descendant thus uniting both her German ancestry with that of my father’s. My parents intersect in three places in Lykens and Burks Counties.
Speaking of finding, don’t look for me on social media. I don’t have a single social media account. I do have a family tree on ancestry and it is public and an enormous number of people most of whom died eons ago. I try to leave the living to their lives and focus pre-civil war when possible. Finding matches has propelled me into this century however so there a a few not so dead folks!
