Wilson Washington was born in 1829. It is likely he was recruited into Company K of the 105th Ohio Volunteer Infantry by Horatio M. Smith. He passed away in 1910. His Michigan death record indicates that he was the son of John E. Smith and Polly Ann Bart.

Wilson enlisted into the 105th Ohio Volunteer Infantry on August 13, 1862. He was discharged for disability at Gallatin, Tennessee on January 27, 1863. <Note: The 1890 Veterans Census notes that Wilson was injured by a shell, but this regimental history does not list him as wounded in action.>

EATON RAPIDS, Dec 8 — The funeral of Wilson W Smith who died Tuesday at the family home in Eaton Rapids township took place this afternoon and the remains were interred in the Brickyard cemetery. Deceased was eighty-two years of age and had been a resident of this community for the past forty years having occupied a farm in Eaton Rapids township the greater portion of the time. He was one of the best known men in this section and besides his immediate family he leaves a wide circle of friends to mourn his death.
