Biography

Louella Smith was born in Appalachia, in Kentucky.

Louella was born about 1874. She is the daughter of Jabel Smith and Mahala Delph Smith. She married 1st Sterling Stewart on 13 Dec 1888 in Barbourville, Kentucky. They have 5 children: Garrison, Bertha, Willie, Effie Jane, Sarah. She married 2nd Campbell Smith on 13 Mar 1904 in Knox County, Kentucky. They have 4 children: Della, Manotia, Boone, Halibell. In the 1910 census, she shows to have 9 children with only 7 living, therefore she had two children born and die between the 1900 and 1910 censuses. There names and which one is their fathers are unknown. (Boone and Halibell are born after the 1910 census). She passed away about 1928. Burial in Ashen Holler Cemetery, Barbourville, Knox County, Kentucky.
