Annie was born in 1902. She was the daughter of James Smith and Margaret (Knox) Smith.

In 1921 she married Abe Carpenter and they had 3 children :

1. Rona Phyllis, born abt 1922 married 1) William R. Hand 2) Thomas Domonic McLean. ^[1]

2. Stanley James John, born 04 Oct 1923, Adamstown NSW (changed his name by deed poll in 1955 to Jeffrey Mathers) died, 20 Aug 1993.

3. Maxwell Albert, born abt 1929: married 1) Eyvone Lorrine Watkins and 2) Thora Patricia Cosgrove ^[2]
