Biography

John Jr was born to John and Francis (Campbell) Smith in Shenandoah, Virginia.[1] John first married Elizabeth Griffin on 20 May 1850,[2] until she passed away before 1860. He then married Polly A Jewell on 30 May 1861 in Page County, Virginia.[3][4] John and his new bride, Polly, lived in Page County, Virginia for about ten years.[5][6] Between 1870 and 1880, they moved from Page County to Rappahannock, Virginia. [7] Before 1900, John and his family moved to Culpepper County, Virginia.[8]
