Biography

Robert was born in 1918, in Wisconsin, to Harvey and Blanche Bennett Smail. He married Opal Chinn in 1947, in California. He then married Peggy Burchfield and they raised four children. Robert and Peggy were lauded in a newspaper article in California, for “Outstanding Service to Children” for their work as foster parents. Robert died in 1992, in Sonora, at the age of 74.
