Avis was born about 1758 (estimate based on date of marriage).[1] She was the daughter of John and Martha Slocum of Dartmouth.[1]
She married Silvanus Folger, son of Timothy and Abiel Folger of Nantucket, on 23d 7m 1778.[1]
