Hi Anne,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

I would like to suggest that the Scotland Project could fit your current research focus. (The Scottish Clans group is under that project now). If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.

Please take your time. Accuracy is so much more important than speed on WikiTree. And please add locations, dates, and at least one reliable source to each profile, particularly any pre-1700s profile, before you leave it. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

Have questions? Reply to this comment or ask in the comments section of my profile.

 :)

Hi Anne, and welcome to WikiTree! You mentioned your ancestors in Scotland. I wanted to let you know we have a great project that focuses on Scottish Clans here called Scottish Clans Project It would be a great place for you to get involved once you have settled into WikiTree.

You may find some of your ancestors are already on WikiTree and the people in the Scottish Clan Project will be happy to help you in any way they can. Thank you so much for joining WikiTree.

Good luck with your research.

I would like to volunteer for this project. I am a New Zealander. All my ancestors emigrated to New Zealand in the 1860s from Scotland, except my grandmother who came from England in 1920
I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process including screenshots that you might find helpful.

The help pages give lots of information about the process, best to start with 'Before you import a GEDCOM'.
