John Simon SL is Notable.

John Simon, son of Isaac Simon and Rebecca Furtado, was born December 9, 1818 in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

In 1841 John (age 22) was a law student living on Melton Street in St Pancras, Middlesex. ^[1]

John married Rachel Salaman July 12, 1843 in Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland. ^{[2] [3]}

in 1851 John (age 32) and Rachel (age 27) were living at 112 Wavertree Terrace in Wavertree, Lancashire, where John was a Barrister at Law. ^{[4] [5]}

In 1861 John (age 42) and Rachel (age 37) were living in Ampthill Square, St Pancras, London. John was a Barrister in Practice. ^[6]

John was granted "place and precedence" as Queen's Counci February 21, 1868. ^[7]

John was elected as a member of Pariament for Dewsbury November 17, 1868. He continued in this position until November 15, 1888. ^[8]

In 1871 John (age 52) and Rachel (age 47) were living at 36 Tavistock Square in St Pancras, Middlesex. John was an Attorney. ^[9]

John was awarded the honour of Freedom of the City of London on April 25, 1872. ^[10]

John was awarded the title of Knight Bachelor August 26, 1886, granting him the distinction of using the prefix "Sir". ^[12]
