Ulysse Simon was born October 23, 1892, in Acadia Parish, Louisiana. [1]
He was a son of Norbert "Nawbaa" Simon and Edmonia Judson. When he was old enough to help out on the farm, he helped at both his own home and at the home of his oldest sister, Carmelite Simon, wife of John Hanks.[2]
In 1900 he lived in his parents' household in Acadia Parish, Louisiana,[3]
and he was there in 1910.[4]

World War I Military Service, 1916-1918: He joined the Louisiana National Guard in 1916. When his enlistment was up in 1916, he joined the US Army as a cook and deployed to Munich in 1918.[5]
He returned home to Acadia Parish after his deployment, and was counted on the census with his parents in 1920.[6]
He and Naomie were living in Crowley when the World War II draft registration began.[9]
His wife Naomie predeceased him, dying in Crowley in 1946. [10]
Ulysse spent his last years with his son David, in Galveston, Texas, and died there on July 6, 1965.[11]
He was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery, in Crowley, Louisiana.[12]
