Biography

Trevor Joseph Simmonds and his younger sister who were born in the early 1900;s were born SIMMONDS whereas his oider siblings were born SIMMONDS SMITH. His parents alterred their surname by Deed Poll in 1898.

My father was born and Schooled in Coromandel, he Matriculated at 14 years of age, and moved down to Victoria University in Wellington where he undertook an Accountancy Degree and Graduated when he was 21 years old.

The Public Trust Office in Wellington offered him a Cadet ship.

He was working in the Public Trust Office Napier in the 1930's, and the nature of his work required him to liaise with the Social Welfare Department where he met my Aunty May Trafford, who invited him up to her families Farm in Gisborne where he met and later Married my mother,

My family transferred to Hamilton when i was 18 months old in 1943

Trevor passed away on the 21st of May 1956, from Pancreatic Cancer/Pneumonia.He was buried at Hamilton East Lawn Cemetery on May 23 1956
