James married Elizabeth Henton on 18 March 1833 in Cuddesdon, Oxfordshire, England.[2]
James Simmons (26) a farm labourer of Oxenfordshire, his wife Eliza (25) and son Charles (6) arrived in the Colony of New South Wales on 24 April 1839 on the Hero of Malown[3] The couple's two other children Sarah (4) and John (infant) died at sea.[4]
He passed away in 1865.
