John, age 7 [sic 9], enumerated as son in the 1880 census household of Logan Sigmon.[1]

23 May 1893 (licensed), 1 June 1893 (married), Catawba Co. Marriage Register: John Sigman, age 23 [born c1870] of Catawba Co., to Binie Sigman, age 21 [born c1872] of Catawba Co., by J. H. Rexrode, Lutheran Minister. Married at bride's residence. Witnesses: Parton [sic Porter] Sigman, Geo. T. Sigman, Susan Sigman.[2]
