John Gustav Siemsen (1884 - 1918)

From Alvin Siemsen notes - John G. Siemsen, son of Jacob Siemsen, born Sept. 14th, 1884, Chicago, Ill. Was baptised Sept. 28th, 1884 by Rev. Geo. vetter, Chicago, Ill. Mr. Siemsen joined the church in the year 1898 at the age of 14 years. Rev. Christian Danner serving as Pastor. During the course of his life, he was active and loyal to the Church and her services. He served as President of the Y.P.A. and other committees of the Young People's organizations. He was a faithful member of the Sunday School and attended as regular as rural life would permit. He was married in the year 1912 to Miss Anna Schroeder. On Dec. 17, 1918 he passed from the realms of this word, at the age of 34 years with the Spanish Flu, an epidemic which crossed the country. Mr. Siemsen followed his brother Jacob H. in death 10 days later.
