Ecra Aaron Shoff, whose life touched so many, was one of the kindest, most loving men. He was a life long member of the Methodist Church and a member of I.O.O.F of Houtzdale, Pennsylvania. He lost his life while working for Berwin-White Company as a Stationary Engineer. The day of his accidental death was one of the worst snow storms of the year. The mine collapsed and he was crushed to death. Every bone in his body was broken. On his farm in Ginter, he raised cattle, and chickens. He sold butter and eggs. He also had a horse named Jim that was sought after for stud service.
