Biography

Mary was born December 3, 1727 in New Jersey.[1] She was a daughter of Samuel Shinn and Sarah Schooley.[1]

Note: Mary (Shinn) Thompson came from a Quaker family dating back to the New Jersey Colony.[2]

Family

Mary married twice.

1) Married January 11, 1754[3] (or in 1745)[1] to William Taylor, Jr.

2) Married on August 31, 1754 to Henry II Thompson.

Children of Mary and Henry:

  1. Job b 5 July 1755, prob died young
  2. Able (Abel?) b 2 March 1757
  3. Sarah b 6 January 1759; mar Jacob Ballinger of Burlington Co, NJ

Henry died just a short while after the execution of his father's will on July 7, 1759. Henry II and his family migrated to South Jersey and from there to Western Pennsylvania.

Research Notes

I find odd the two marriages so close together; need to verify they were both her.
