A Lieutenant in the Revolutionary War in command of a detachment from Townsend co. of militia. Col. James Prescott's regt., which marched April 20, 1775, in response to the alarm of April 19, 1775. Also in Capt. Thomas Warren's 5th (1st Townsend) co., 6th Middlesex Co. regt. of Mass. militia. In 1777 he was in Capt. Aaron Jewett's company, Col. Job Cushing's regt. and Col.
