Ebenezer Sherwin was born in 1675 in Ipswich, Essex, Massachusetts, son of John Sherwin (~1644–1726) and Frances Loomis (~1646–<1691).^{[citation needed]}

Ebenezer (24) married Susannah Howlett (20) (born on August 27, 1679, in Topsfield, Essex; daughter of Deacon Samuel Howlett and Sarah (Clark) Howlett) on February 1, 1700 in Topsfield, Essex.^{[citation needed]} Their children were:
