Henry was a recruit in the Union Army as Private in Company H, 7th Regiment, Indiana Cavalry (119th Infantry). He was mustered in on 26 Sep 1863 and is listed as deserted on 31 Jul 1865.[2][3] The regiment was engaged in the following Battles: Brice's Crossroads, Little Blue River, Independence, Byram's Ford, Westport, Marais des Cygnes, Mine Creek, Marmiton River and Egypt Station.[4]
Henry married Rebecca Jane Billington on 24 Sep 1868 in Decatur, Indiana.[5]
Henry was formerly a minister in the Christian church in the east, and was a member of Pasadena, California’s John F. Godfrey Post of the G.A.R.[6]
