James was born about 1822 in Virginia. his parents are unknown. James was a slave owner , in 1850 census he had four slaves. James married Mary (maiden name unknown) about 1845 and they had four children. He died at the age of 32 in Meriwether County, Georgia. It's unsure what happen to the slaves.

Death

James died about 1854, as his Estate went into Probate that year.^[3]

Probate

James's estate passed a Guardian Bond on 6 November 1854. His wife Mary appointed guardian of the children with a bond of $6000.^[3]
