Mary was born in about 1829, daughter of Edward & Phebe. She was baptised on 15 March 1829 in Wheatley, Oxfordshire, England.^[1]

In the 1851 census Mary (age 22) was living with her parents and 2 younger sisters in Wheatley, Oxfordshire, England. Her father was an agricultural labourer. ^[2]

Mary appeared in the local press in 1880 charged with malicious damage of a vine belonging to a neighbour, George Stanley. "Mrs Stanley said she was sitting in her own house, on the 4th inst., when she heard a noise like the rushing of water. She went to the door, and saw defendant leave her garden with jug in her hand. Witness fetched her lamp to see what she had done, and found a lot of brine on the vine, causing some of it to wither. —P.C. Savin said he was sent for Mr. Stanley’s, and he found the leaves of the vine covered with salt, and some of the shoots had died away.—Defendant was fined 6d., damage 1s., and 15s. 6d. costs, or 7 days’ imprisonment." ^[4]

In the 1881 census Mary (age 52) was living with her husband and a nephew in Church Rd, Wheatley, Oxfordshire, England. Her husband was working as an agricultural labourer. ^[5]

Mary died in 1907 and was buried on 13 May 1907 in Wheatley, Oxfordshire, England.^[6]
