Biography

John Shears was featured in Recollections – Stories of Carbrook.

John was born abt. 1866,[1] as son of John and Elizabeth.[2]

He attended Gramzow Provisional School, and was one of the first 24 students at the school's opening in 1877.[3]

He married Ada Burnell on April 19th, 1899.[4]

John lived in Mount Cotton,[5] Redland Bay, and Dayboro. He was a farmer.[6] At death, he was living in Virginia.[7]

John died on June 29th, 1940,[2] and was buried at the Lutwyche Cemetery after a service on July 1st.[1]
